TASMANIA'S ONE MAKE SERIESIn 2017, the Tasmanian Rally Championship welcomed the addition of the Buckby Subaru Challenge, a one make series for Subaru Impreza RS cars. The cars are based on the same formula as the Australian Rally Championship's Subaru RS Challenge in 2004/05. The same championship that helped uncover rally stars Eli Evans, Steve Glenney and Will Orders.
The inaugural season was hotly contested. 15 drivers competed in the first year, with most new to rallying on gravel. The Challenge joined the TRC field on all four of its events and the cars quickly grew a reputation for being very reliable and competitive. There were 3 different rally winners across the four rounds, whilst 8 drivers made podium results. This illustrates how even the competition is! The Buckby Subaru Challenge is backed by Northern Tasmanian’s Subaru dealer Buckby Subaru with support from Dunlop Motorsport Race Tyres and Motul Oils through Fulton Enterprises. If you are interested in taking part, we suggest getting in contact with Buckby Motorsport.
