|
|
Just noticed a few people in the 1st round this year were trying out some Kumho tires. How are they? Whats the comparison like between Yokies and the other brands that are going around.
Might have to get a new set of tyres soon but no sure what to get.. |

| I ran Kuhmos most of last year and they are ok. Cheap to buy and not too bad grip wise, but the grip level does fade when they get worn. Yokohamas are a lot stronger tyre because of kevlar walls and seem to hold the grip level until they are bald. You can re groove yokies a bit more because they are quite thick, whereas the kuhmo's are a bit thin and regrooving isn't really possible. Fork out and buy yokohamas! |

So wats the price compassison? Wat they both worth and wat else is out there? Ive been doin a bit more tyre research and for us rear wheel drive boys there aint alot of options in the scheme of things, most tyres suited to 2wd are only made in smaller sizes like 13s and 14s, and dunlop so a lower profile like 185,60, R15($220). Not real ideal for a big Falcon, skyline ect The larger sizes all seem to suit 4wds more _________________ yeah but nah |

| The kuhmos i have are R800 205/65- 15 and they cost $240, regardless of compound, from revolution racegear in Hobart. The yokohamas are more expensive, AO35e 205/65 - 15 range between $300-$380 depending on where you go to get them |

| Thanks for your input guys. I think our Pirellies should be able to hold out another rally but will have to get some for round 3. If I can get some yokies for $300 that might be the way to go. Am very tempted to try the Kumho's though... |

For a price on Yokies, give Mick and Leanne a call at Legana Tyres and More. _________________ mt stages-unfinished business....
