Must admit that my favourite rally car of all time is the legendary Escort BDA.
This clip (from Ireland I believe) takes it to a whole new level though:

Changing gears in an Escort without taking your hand off the steering wheel? And I love the way the gear display changes to red when it's time to change up!
Enjoy

For some reason I couldn't edit the previous post, meant to say the clip is a bit long. Also, do a youtube search for Declan Boyle, some brilliant in car stuff!!

Sensational Geoff!!

Does the co-driver sound a little nervous?

No, just Oirish! Half way through one stage he asks the driver 'Are you listenin' to me now?' Classic.
Would seriously kill for the car though!

Hi Geoff and others, I believe the engine in this (and many other British/Irish rally cars) is actually an all alloy Millington Diamond 2.5 litre 4 cylinder. they make about 320hp!!!!

The gearbox is a Tractive 6 speed sequential and display.

very cool car everyone should have one!

Oh dear, Ireland seems to have an abundance of Mk 2 Escorts with crazy drivers & unique co-drivers still running around in rallies (and often beating modern 4wd's). A few more names that come up - Phil Collins (not the singer), Samuel Kelso, Eugene Ferry, Daniel McKenna plus a host of others.

This is my favourite clip though:
